Brass isn't hot after firing

.308W mag length load 175gr. TMK 41.2gr IMR4320. Brass is barely above ambient temperature (by feel) after firing. Just seems odd. Brass from my M1 Garand will burn your hand. What's vthe deal?

What are you shooting it out of? Isn't M-1 gas operated? They are going to be hot. My Bolt guns spit out barley lukewarm brass. My ar10 style spits em out HOT as hell!!

The reason autoloaders spit out brass that is hot is that they are ejected before the barrel sinks off the heat. A 22 rimfire case from an auto pistol is hot. From a bolt or lever gun it is cold.

My creedmoor the brass comes out cool! I thought someone was playing a joke on me somehow when it first got shot
