Brass for reloading

I was able to pick up 100 pieces Winchester 25-06 brass that was only shot once, but the brass is silver, will this silver brass be ok to use for reloading?
Thanks Brent

I would not go out looking to buy some but i would use what you picked up and be glad to have it. Ive loaded a bunch of 38 special nickle plated brass with zero problems.

You can load it, just make sure it is clean and be sure you lube it well.

That is nickel plate and hard compared to brass. It can wear your trim cutters and tools faster than normal brass, but as long as you don't make a long term habit out of it you won't notice.

I had friends who used to hunt with nothing but nickel plated brass cause they felt it did better in snow and rain. I used to trade it to them for normal brass, but worked with it often enough when I was short on anything better as a kid.

Plenty of, 9 mm, .45 auto, some .40 S&W and .223 Brass, in the "Boonies" wherever people were,.. Plinking !
Savvy Re-loader's will be, hitting those area's, soon,.. IF this keeps up !
Bruno's has some Norma Brass available if anyone needs some.
Couldn't find, many short action Rem 700's, "out there" either ( usual places,.. NO stock ! ).

Carbide and TiN sizing dies for pistol cases are a lot harder than rifle dies. As to reloading nickle plated brass, pistol yes, rifle no. YMMV.

Load it and don't worry about it! Never ceases to amaze me how internet camandos chime in with no real knowledge. Just make sure it is clean. THIS IS IMPORTANT

"..........internet camandos chime in with no real knowledge".

That is a pretty arrogant statement given who is on this forum, and what has been said in this thread is reasonable and very much seems to be based on actual experience.

Nickel plated brass is not as good as unplated brass for rifles. Nickel plated brass does not spring back the same as unplated, and my experience is it doesn't last as long. I don't know anyone shooting a high accuracy discipline that uses nickel plated brass.

That said, it will work well enough for a hunting rifle and may even be preferable in some hunting environments. If it's all I had I would use it.
