Brand new Savage MK II BV ?

This rifle ib brand new and when I run mu usual cleaning rod down the barrel it seems tight. This cleanig rod is not tight in my other savage MK II 22

no its not. Inserting just the brass end of my Dewey rod and it is a little tight
