BRA Question - Load Dev while FFing?

Hey Guys,

I've done some initial powder charge testing using some brass that is already fire formed. That said, my scheduled just cleared up to go shoot tomorrow, and I don't have any fire formed brass ready to load....all I have available is virgin/turned 6BR stuff.

Question: Assuming you had a powder node identified on fire formed 6BRA brass, would you expect to be able to drop the same powder charge into 6BR brass, and do meaningful depth testing?

Nothing too crazy...31.2gr of Varget and a 108 Berger BT.

Personally I wouldn’t ff with 31.2 but I have found a course seating depth while ff br brass to BRA and it’s been my final seating depth load...

I used 29.5 gr Varget to ff

Appreciate the responses. Ended up not being able to find my virgin brass, so did prep work on once fired. Found a good load with 105s @ 2885 FPS.

20 round group at 300 that was .58 MOA on the shotmarker. Good enough to lose it on X-count.

I'm gonna play around in F-Open at monthly 300/500/600 yard matches; just trying to conserve my supply of 20Xs for 1,000 yard TR shooting. I figured as popular as the 6mms are, the bullet mfgs will probably be cranking them out with more consistency than something TR specific....that's my hope anyway.
