What retical and power does everyone like and why , not sure on what too get it will be going on rem40xbr 222 it has Leopold 1" rings and bases but was wanting to go to 30mm tube thanks for any help will not be shooting competition just amongst friends . My friend has a nice range at his house . And it's almost like your at a competition the way they shoot !

You don't say what range you'll be shooting at. At 100 yards a Leupold 35X competition scope will do the job. Lots of good used ones here from time to time. That Sightron previously suggested is also a good choice and can extend your range to 200-300 yards and on. As for reticle I've always liked a plain crosshair. I seem to lose the dot on the black of the target.

Get the Vortex GE, that way if you expand your shooting you will be covered. I have several, they track and hold point of aim perfectly. If your a veteran or first responder they have great special prices for you.

Yea it would be 300 and under he just cleared another 100 1\2 yrds I'll be using my 6mm rem for that . Thank s

Yes really like the ge vortex but not the price would like that set up with illuminated ecr1 retical who makes one close for around $800

Also have the twist in Leopold dovetail rings and bases does any one use these in 30mm or should they be changed ? Looking for the best set up for a sightron 10x50x60 30mm scope on 700 action what sz rings

I have the Luepold on some of my Savages with both 1" or 30mm they work fine.
