BR Encore

Any thoughts on an Encore pistol in 6 or 30 BR? I am not a bench rest shooter with rail guns and things. I just like accurate cartridges and think the Encore pistol is a good platform. I think twist rate and barrel length will be a problem with the 30BR but maybe not so much the 6BR. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the problem with using the encore for benchrest is that you must break open the action. this means you must reset the rifle on the rest each time you shoot. this is both slow and inconsistant because you never put the rifle in the same exact place again. there is a gun of the week feaured that is an encore, you should have a look becuse they are capable of great accuracy, but the style is not ideal for br.

As for accuracy the 6BR gets my vote. I have a 14 inch Contender in 6mm-225 Winchester that does about what the 6BR will do from a 14 inch barrel. I like a rimed case better in the T/C's. I mainly use mine to deer hunt. It will push a Sierra 80 gr. SSP bullet 2700 fps with Varget powder and will blow the shoulders off a deer out to 200 yards or so.

The Encore can be able to shoot very little groups, just for kicks I replaced my 2x scope on my 308 Bullberry pistol barrel with a 4-16x50 Nikon Tactical to see what kind of groups I could get and it will shoot in the low .4's consistanly at 100yds with hand loads.

with a good barrel tight hinge pin and reworked trigger they make fine guns
