Boron Nitrate

Just curious whether this coating needs to be cleaned out of the barrel with a special solvent or procedure?

Your everyday method works just fine. You will however find it much easier to clean and can extend cleaning intervals.

Just make sure you are using boron nitride instead of boron nitrate. Nitride is the one with the graphite like structure, not so sure about the nitrate.

Definitely make sure you are using Boron Nitride and NOT Boron Nitrate, as Boron Nitrate is often used as an abrasive, not a good thing in a rifle barrel. Boron Nitride that is used in bullet coating has a hexagonal particle shape, and the Boron Nitrite has a cubic particle shape.

I made a typing error it is nitride, I purchased some dtac's that I was not sure how to clean after shooting them. Thanks for your input. I usually use butch's bore shine and copper brushes.

I have yet to hear anyone say whether there's any advantage to using the carnuba wax coat after plating with BN. Does anyone know whether Tubb uses wax over BN on his 115s?
