Borescope proof.

Has anyone borescoped a barrel after using the boretech carbon remover? I have seen pictures after eliminator but not their carbon specific cleaner. Im trying not to use alot of jb's in my new rifles. I have run a 4mm headed camera down the barrel byt the close up focus isnt great. It looks good especially if i put a patch facing the camera but im not 100% convinced the hard carbon is being kept under control. Thanks

I have. The one time I borescoped a rifle after cleaning it was when I was cleaning a freshly broken in barrel up before having it Salt-Bath Ferritic Nitrocarburized. BoreTech C4 cleaned it up squeaky clean (shot #1 from that barrel was literally the dirtiest shot I have ever fired, though).

It works...meaning it will certainly get some carbon out if you keep at it long enough and use enough patches. I wouldn't call it "great" however. I'm a huge fan of Boretech products, but the C4 Carbon Remover isn't their greatest product, IMO. Try using it until you absolutely cannot see any more carbon coming out on a patch. Then run an additional patch with Cu2+ copper cleaner or Kroil and you will see how much carbon has really been left behind. It's fine for "coarse" carbon removal prior to some type of copper removal step, if for no other reason than to facilitate better access of the copper removal agent to the copper itself. But in my hands its efficiency at removing carbon leaves something to be desired.

I run eliminator down after the c4 and usually get nothing but copper. I do use a bronze brush with the c4 and the boretech nylon with the eliminator.

I have had nothing but outstanding results with the Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover as verified by both my bore scope and the patches. I highly recommend it.

Rem40x bore cleaner works great on carbon also. Not very abrasive either.

That's what I use. Rem 40X removes carbon better than anything else I've tried. Does a good job on copper while it's at it too. I always borescope my barrels after cleaning and 40X works very well. I follow 40X with Pro Shot Copper Solvent to dissolve the finer bits of copper if needed

Best part is 40X can be found on the shelf at any local Walmart or most common sporting goods stores. Pro shot, not so easy to find. Only one sporting store carries it where I live. I don't recall seeing any sort of Boretech products in any sporting goods store I've ever visited across the country...

At least it doesn't smell like surstromming, which is arguably the best human repellent ever invented. Its Chanel No. 5 compared to surstromming.
I googled surstromming on youtube. I am very happy computer screens are not 'scratch-and-sniff'!

Ditto

The Bore Tech carbon and copper cleaners are all I use now after other products gave me a false sense that I was getting a clean Bore. It does take a few patches to get all of it out, but I've never found a product that doesn't. I verify everything is clean using a borescope
