I ordered a Bore tech cleaning rod for my rim fire. Opened up the box last night to discover that the online retailer had shipped a 223 cf rod. Should I bother to return it for the rod that I ordered? Or just use it? What is the difference?

Thanks for the help in advance.

It is the black handle 223 caliber rod? They have a 0.010” larger OD than the rimfire which puts them at 0.205”. Personally that is a little close for my liking, I would return it. But technically it would fit in your bore just fine but the room for deflection or misalignment is minimal.

Yes. It is the black handle one. I will see about retuning it.
Thanks.
