Bore Smith aka triangle patches

So... I noticed on Amazon Bore Smith no longer lists their triangle patches. I found their web page and ordered them there. Fine by me, I'm not a fan of Amazon.

I got a order confirmation notification, and a link to check my order same day. So a week later (today) figure I'll check the link.

Shows an order number but no tracking. The hot link to contact them is dead.

Calling them goes straight to voice mail.

So I'm just curious if anyone has done business with them recently.

Thanks!

Same here but order arrived in the US Mail ( there is the problem) and all was well--same as you right about the time I got concerned they showed up and he included a sample pack of other sizes which i thought was generous and a good idea
I LOVE those in my tight bore CZ 22--I use them on a 20 cal rod and jag--works Excellent

You nailed it! Got home from the range and my order was on my stoop.

They included samples of other caliber patches and a cleaner.

Been using these for about three years now and would hate to go back to a round or square patch. The triangle cut patch allows more of the patch to contact the bore and move more freely down the bore as was described in their ads due to the others bunching up. Noticed recently Amazon had deleted them from their site as well.

I tried both their customer service and info email addresses with no response. I ended up just getting regular patches in the meantime, but in another two weeks I will dispute the transaction.

PLAGERIZED by me!!! I don't remember where I got this, otherwise I would have credit the author.

Side-Spiking Cleaning Patches
“Side-Spiking”, as the words suggest, refers to moving your patch spiking position from the center of the patch towards the corner of a square patch or the edge of a round patch.
Moving from Center-Spiking to Side-Spiking
The closer toward the edge of the patch you spike your jag, the looser the patch will be when pushed down the bore. Important: Be careful not to go to the very edge of the patch. Leave enough patch material to fully cover the first set of rings on your jag as this insures your jag is properly centered in the bore and that no contact with the rifling will occur.
Proper Side-Spiking Location
Creedmoor Sports recommends side spiking all wet patches. This allows for a looser patch in the bore which removes gross powder fouling and leaves more cleaning solution behind to start working on the remaining fouling.

When a tighter patch is needed, simply move spike closer toward the center of the patch. The closer to the center of the patch the tighter the patch will become in the bore. The objective is to have a snug-fitting patch that allows to smoothly push your rod down the bore. Remember, you do not need to end up in the center of the patch!

For 6mm/.243 I cut 2" square patches diagonally to use them, no the full 2" patch wont go Ugh.
That or the round 6mm patches are my favorite from Proshot.

I have used the tri-angle patches for a few years. Much of my shooting is 17 caliber, I like the the tri-angle patches. I ordered quite a few in different sizes, probably have a life time supply. I hope they do well.

I used these several years ago and really liked them until I got a batch that wouldn’t absorb solvent. Is that still a problem, or did I just get a bad batch?
You didn't get a bad batch, that's just the way they were for awhile. I got some of those and they were really terrible. I called the company and they said they couldn't get USA flannel anymore so they started using imported stuff that was crap. Just for the hell of it I called Shawn, the owner, recently and told him of my concerns and that I wouldn't buy any more of their products if they were still using that crap flannel. He was very accommodating and told me they had a new USA supplier. He got into great detail about different kinds of flannel and offered to send me sample packs of various types for evaluation.
We did a follow up call a couple weeks ago and I gave him my opinion that my 2 favorites were a thick imported and the USA flannels. He told me that all new orders are with the USA flannel, with the exception of the 17-20 cal which he still has a big stockpile of the old flannel that was great. He is also working on getting back on Amazon. I think it's a great small family run business that has had some rough times.
So all this to say I think it's safe to order from them again as the new flannel is on par with the old.
