I've always been frustrated trying to line my bore scope with the center of the bore to provide a uniform image over the interior walls of the chamber. The scope's end wants to lay down in the cavity and it's difficult to keep it where I want it.
My simple solution was to center bore a 7" length of 5/8 wooden dowel with a 1/4 inch hole. (Remington 700) Remove the bolt, pop the dowel into the action and run the scope probe through the hole. Takes some of the frustration out of directing the scope where I want it:
