Bore guide for Ruger 77/22

I have yet to shoot my 77/22 Lilja barreled 17HMR as I plan to use the Lilja protocol for breaking it in. As far as I can tell the ejector on a 77/22 action precludes the use of a bore guide unless someone makes one with a slot milled for the ejector, assuming that is possible. I have a carbon fiber .17 Cal Tipton rod. Is there such a bore guide? Am I likely to do violence to the rod or the chamber if I simply use the rod, only? Lucas does not make a bore guide for the 77/22 for the above reason. Thanks.

I purchased an ejs bore guide and it was terrible also purchased a stoney point that they stopped making and it was not very good. I too would like to find a nice 77/22 bore guide, I thought about taking my sinclair adjustable bore guide and cutting a new tip that would fit just inside the chamber but you would have to drop the ejector to do so.

I have come to the conclusion that no one makes a bore guide for the 77/22 because the extractor precludes one. Dan Lilja says use the cleaning rod carefully not allowing it to bow. I suspect a carbon fiber rod is less problematic than a coated steel in this case.

gpoldblue, thanks. Does it go in straight, ie, concentric with the bolt race axis? How does it avoid the ejector? I notice on the Sinclair website there are several model numbers. What is the model no. of the one you are using? Thanks.

Midway sells a Possum Hollow bore 77/22. I have one of this brand for my CZ 452 and it works great. Need to get on for my sons 77/22 Hornet, which is a great little gun..!..

Dogwater, I sent a PM to you. I have a Sinclair rod guide for the 77/22 for .17 cal. Let me know if your interested and I will give it to you for a good deal.
