bore diameter differences on new barrel

While looking to order a new barrel for my smith to put on, I noticed on the Kreiger site that one has to choose a bore diameter of either .2360 or 2370 for .243 caliber. What would the difference be and what would make a person choose one or the other? Thanks.

I know someone will chime in but the general consensus is .237 which has less friction. I would call krieger or any barrel maker and see what they think.

General rule of thumb is the .237's are for close range BR with flat base bullets that have a fatter pressure ring.

The .236's are for long range using higher BC boatail bullets that generally measure smaller in diameter, as they don't have a pronounced pressure ring.

Both can and do work at both disciplines.

I think it is all in the shooters head.

While a lot of the things we do in BR can fall into the feel good category, in my opinion, this ain't one of them.....
