Bore cleaning after Boron Nitride coated bullets

You want to get what hBN remains out or just clean residual carbon / copper / powder residue?

I use two patches wet with Hoppe's gun oil, wait about five minutes, then two patches wrapped tight on a proper-for-the-bore-diameter jag.

Then two patches wet with Shooter's Choice, wait another five minutes, then two more on that jag again.

Done.

New gun to me. Have not shot anything down the bore yet, but the gun has had BN coated bullets fired in it. Just looking for a starting point.

Thanks...

All you are after is to remove carbon from the barrel so a good carbon remover 1st. Then use your copper remover and see if there is any copper residue. HBN is not like molly where there is a removeable film left to be removed.

I use my regular routine with good results in my 6x47L. Before the DTACs I ran Berger 108bts. Same routine works for both.

Its not necessary to clean the bore at all. After about 6 un-coated shots the effects are negligible.
If you heve to clean it, 100% alcohol does it quickly and cleanly.

Something I didn't see in your post was whether or not you had slurry treated your bore before firing the ICPs.
If not, then the amount of hBN in your barrel is nearly nothing anyway. It only works if the bore is treated first.

I shoot HBN and clean mine around every 300-500 rounds using normal cleaning techniques. Before shooting a match, I degrease the barrel and then pre-treat with a solution of HBN and 99% Isopropyl alcohol. First shot accuracy is on call after cleaning.

I guess you saw the posting on this domain that covers the subject? >>> http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/tag/hbn/. The referenced blog discusses what evilaviator mentions above.
