booster

I know there is a compzny or two making boosters for a weaver t36. Who makes them and how can I contact them?

Your looking for Bulz Eye Pro, AKA Gene Davis Booster, If you want to see pictures of the different models go to 6mmBR home page and click on daily bulletin, then click July 2, there's all contact info list in article.

They do not always work well. I bought a Davis 3x, tried it on Weaver 36 and Leupold 36. In both instances, it was reasonably clear at 100 yards, then the target became more blurred as focal distance increased. At 300 yards, I could see scoring rings better without it. But Gene Davis is a good guy and will refund your money if not satisfied.

They don't work for everyone. I checked the web site www.bulzeyepro.com and got in contact with Rocky, he explained how it works and what won't work. I have both a 3x screw in model and a 4x in the rubber slip on, the 3x is a clear brite for up to 200 yds. and the 4x is a mult-coat that works great out to 600 yds. I'm able to see my .223 holes at 600 with this slid on my Premier 20x50x50 Leupold.

Gene and Rocky both great guys to deal with!

i talked to Mr Davis earlier this week and i must say i cant remember talking with a nicer individual on the phone. i had a few questions and he not only addressed them but offered alternatives if the booster didn't work for me. i ordered a 4x that night.

one question i had was how cumbersome with the slip on model is with a fast focus eye piece? he did tell me this could be a problem but that if i wanted to try it there was a third model coming out any day witch is much shorter to help address this problem and that if it didn't work for me they would gladly trade me for newest on coming out.

i have several different scopes i hope to try this on and for different kinds shooting so i have no doubt it will work prefect on at least one of them.

have any of you had a problem with the slip on 4x with a fast focus eye piece?
Brian

I just bought,on spec) the slip-on 4X for my LRT 8.5-25X50 and I must be doing something wrong...

I cannot get the reticle to focus for me. I have screwed the scope's diopter adjustment to both extremes and I cannot get it to focus at all. It gets better when I screw the dioptic ajestment all the way in, but I cannot get it to go far enough to make it even remotely clear. I also noted that there was a tendency towards a "double image" and haze as well.

I tried it on a Weaver T-36 and same thing. No my eyes aren't "bad".

I am cursed with having a backgound in commercial photography and reprographics, so I am picky about optical quality, but not being able to see the reticle is beyond being "picky".

I sorry to hear that your having problems, maybe the 4X is too much for your eye. You should get in thouch with Gene and let him know that your having troble and I'm sure he'll take care of you.

Mitchell.
A new friend had one. he didn't like it and had it off.
I helped him put it on his 36 weaver and reset the focus.
This is the 3x model it screw right in the back area where the lens cover goes. It boosts the power quite a bit.
The new friend really likes it now. A set of instructions comes with it. The 4x boosts the power even higher. The 3x is $100 and i believe the 4x is $125 .
I hope this helps. from what i have read gene davis is working on more models for other scopes

Mitchell,

GerryM is right they work great, I have a 3x screw in for a Boosted Premier/Leupold that I picked up here from some one that didn't like it. Screwed it on, adjusted the parallax then crosshair focus, and know I have like 65x. I also bought a 4x from Rocky at Bulz Eye Pro for my other Boosted Premier/Leupold that was made before the threaded eye piece, that makes it 70x, plus it's a multii coat and mirage is more readable. They came out with a smaller slip on mount and Rocky hooked me up with one, My friend saw my and installed one on a 12x42 BR NF and just loves it.
Check out the web page www.bulzeyepro.com and contact them, they'll help you get what you would need.
