Bolt removeal without a bolt release

I bought a Remington 40 XB that has a Jewell trigger but without a bolt release. I know there is a way to remove the bolt but can't seem to figure it out. It is a single shot 22 rim fire. Can someone help me?

There should be a slot on the left side of the bolt as it is pulled back (looking from the top of the action down). That slot houses the bolt release. If you take a small screw driver/pick/etc and push down on the part of the bolt release furthest forward or toward the muzzle you can pull the bolt out as you hold it down.

Be sure to not pull the bolt hard against the stop when depressing the bolt stop or it will be hard to do.

Thank you very much. Worked like a charm. I just couldn't remember for the life of me how to do it.

Thanks again.............Bob :)
