Bolt hold open on PSA 9mm carbine

Bought a PSA GEN4 8" 9MM 1/10 GX M-LOK MOE EPT SHOCKWAVE PISTOL without realizing the importance of having the bolt hold open feature. Trying to use the carbine for competition and it’s very cumbersome without this feature. My question is, is there a way to get that one part and install it or do I need an entire receiver. If I need a receiver how do I know which is compatible? Mine uses glock magazines.

I have the same action, on a 16" model. An extended charging handle (only need the left side) is your friend. Practice racking the boot from the shoulder - I tilt the muzzle towards the ground while pulling the charging handle up and back with my open palm facing towards me.
It took quite a bit of practice but it is now second nature when using this firearm.

Change the upper to a model that has the LRBHO built into it or use a 556 lower in combination with endomags.

As Scott-ak has said, you can run this upper on any (standard) ar 15 lower and just use the endo mag ar mag conversion from 5.56 to 9mm. I have them and they run perfect! The only requirement is: you must have the PSA Hybrid bolt carrier group. Your Gen4 should have the hybrid 4? If you do decide to run that on an ar15 lower, make sure that you shim behind the buffer to stop the over travel so that it goes no more than 1/4 of and inch behind the bolt catch after the last round is fired or you will shear the bolt catch off from the inertia of the spring. You can use 3$ worth or quarters in the bottom of the tube or you can buy an extended pistol buffer that is 50 $ ; ).

The PSA Gen4 9 is a good bolt. I have others that work with endomags. Both may require trimming of the feed lips to make them run smooth.
