BOLT HANDLE WELDING???

Dans40x. He's in Alaska, but offers very fair prices, very fast turnaround, and very good workmanship.

He's a member here I bet. Search for him. :)

Here's his website: http://www.accu-tig.com

Dennis,
Give me a shout,
I have a couple questions for you.
I've TIG welded a few, thousand)bolt handles in the past 20+yrs.

Dennis, just do as Nate suggest and get in touch with Dan Armstrong. His work is superb and turnaround time will please you as well. Where in Va.do you live? I live in south central just out of Danville, let me know and you can drop by to look at several. Mack

Why would I ship my bolt all the way to Alaska to get Dan to weld a handle on?? Because Dan is the best! :thumb:

Try this one. This is a XP bolt that had the dogleg handle on it. Pierced a primer and bent the handle trying to get the bolt open. Had Dan replace the handle. :thumb:

HI GUYS! I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM AND I JUST WANTED TO GIVE DANIEL AN A+ ON HIS BOLT WELDING.SENT HIM 2 BOLTS LAST WEEK AND GOT THEM BACK TODAY. HIS WORK IS FIRST CLASS.THANKS DAN!

Dan replaced the bolt handle UPS was able to break off on a silhouette rifle that was shipped from Richard Franklin a few years ago. Top notch work.

Nice welds on that handle.
Is there a weld on the handle in the area that the bolt shroud hides from view?

How about this one, doubt it will ever come off.
SS-700 on a XP bolt Dan did for me.......[

I seriously doubt that those handles will EVER come loose or break off,the handle itself might break, but I doubt that too).

NICE work Dan,from one welder to another).

Those welds are very precise.

Did you use a heat sink in the threaded area?

Later,
Dennis Adams

Dennis,
The process is heat sinked & purged simultaneously w/UHP Argon to keep the atmosphere from the inside of the bolt body.
