bolt for 700 pss ltr 308

I purchased a 20" 700 PSS LTR .308 used from a gun shop so I can't account for its wear etc. The bolt face has some pitting on it. Is this of any concern? I'm not a serious BR shooter. This is my primary deer rifle as well as an occasional tactical match gun. I would like to improve the feel of the action without spending a bunch of money that I don't have. I would also like a large heavy bolt handle. Am I correct in thinking that a new bolt is in order as opposed to having a handle fitted? If so, what bolt would you recommend? What can I expect to spend on it and what will it cost to have it fitted.

A new knob can be fitted. It's a PITA, but it can certainly be done.

The "pitting" is actually "gas cutting" from primers leaking or blowing out sometime in the past.

If it's not severe, it's no big deal.

Even if severe the bolt face can be trued up to clean it up.... but that will require the shoulder of the barrel to be set back.
