Bolt Bushing Photos

carlsbad

Lions don't lose sleep over the opinions of sheep.
I'm bushing a couple of bolts for a forum member today and thought I'd post a couple of photos. 2 identical bolts allowed a before and after photo in one shot. Cleanup cut on second photo is .0004" so no effect on headspace. --Jerry

Probably should have cleaned up the before. I really just showed it to show the diameter of the OEM firing pin hole.

2 bolts done ready to head home tomorrow. Finish is the same on both. Hard to get the light the same on 2 bolts at the same time. --Jerry

What do you do about croccked firing pins? I have had a few of those come in. One from PTG was actually the worst one i have seen seen so far.

if it is only slightly crooked, then turning it will re-center the tip. If it it too crooked, then replacement pins are cheap. I keep a couple of .062 nominal PTG pins in stock at all times in case I need to replace one. I also have had guys ask for a new pin so I have a supply of old pins to turn. --Jerry
