Body die question

I am using a Redding body die for 280 A.I.
Fired cases (Nosler 280 A.I. brass)measure 2.140-2.1405 at the datum line.
Fired cases measure .453 at the body shoulder junction.

In trying to set the die for .001-.002 shoulder bump I get a burr at the body shoulder junction completely around the case. The best I can measure the body shoulder junction it is now .450. I use a Lee Collet die for .280 Rem. This burr appears whether I neck size first or body size first.

I am not sure which way to go next.

Take your dies and 5 cases with a letter of explanation and send them back to redding.Sounds like a 260 die I had, ruined 2 cases and stopped.I looked inside the die and it wasnt even reamed,so this illustrates that redding does make mistakes.

That was what I was thinking Jon. Just to be clear I do not mean this to be a product complaint. Use quite a bit of Redding products.
Things get frustrating when I'm only home 40 days a year.

I have had to send the last 3 body dies back for replacement - two had reamer chips on the shoulder and one was so rough that brass dust was stripped off the case body and fell out of the die and onto the press ram.

I use a lot of Redding stuff and like it, but there is something wrong at Redding now. Pat Ryan used to be in charge, and the when he left, I think it went down - the new guy doesn't seem to have it together.

I too had a problem with a Redding SBD. It was oversized. Yes, they replaced it noting my observations were correct. Now this one seems too small. Problem there is, when you squeeze them down too tight, they grow longer, and must be trimmed again.
