Been trying to get ahold of him for a couple of weeks left messages and email, he's built half a dozen rifles for me always either answered the phone or called back same day.
I'm hoping all is we'll with him, he is one of the best and most reliable smith's I've ever used.

I've heard he is cutting back on his gunsmithing in preparation for possible retirement. Also he likes to hunt but I would think PA's deer season has ended except for flintlock.

I have tried to get in touch with him for over a year. One day he was answering his calls and then he simply fell of the face of the earth. this topic has been talked about numerous times in the forum. I was at his house to pick up a rifle and it looked like he was very busy. A month later I could not contact. He did mention to me that he was thinking of retiring at some point in the future but I did not think it was emanant.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to reach him earlier this year. No luck via phone or e-mail. Sorry to hear he might be out of the business. I have 2 rifles from him that I couldn't be happier with. A gentleman through and through.

I heard the same thing that he was doing very little gunsmith work and would probably retire very soon.

Bob has chambered several rifles for me in the past and his work was always exceptional and not to mention he was less than an hours drive from me.

I wish him well.

Bob chambered 13 barrels for me towards the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021. He told me in the fall of 2020 that he only had 2 years left before he was going to retire. He's been at his camp a lot this year and I don't blame him. I told him you better get out when you say you will because you don't want to end up like Sid passing away at 64. I to have been unable to get ahold of him. He usually picked up the phone if he was at home in his shop or he would return my calls. But he is MIA at this point.

Sounds like Bob has retired?
Smithed a few rifles for me.
I wish him well "away" from the lathe.
Hope all is well w/ him.
