BN coated Dtacs

What's the best prep for BN coated 115 Dtacs, polished or straight from the box?
I am having elevation issues and just wondered if they should be clean & polished.
Anyone had this problem with them?

I've been doing a lot of bullet measuring lately and have found that you really have to sort the DTACs both by weight and bearing surface. They are all over the place. For what it is worth the Scenar L 105s I have been measuring have essentially little to no variation in either weight or bearing surface. It's nice to finally have a bullet that the quality control is so good that you can literally pull them right out of the box and load with 100% confidence. What a luxury and a time saver.

Have not measured the latest batch of DTACs but the original batch was so consistent that I just shot them right out of the box. I don't bother weighing them, just check the bearing surface. I find that the weight follows the variations in the bearing surface length.

The Lapua 105L bullets are great for up to 600 yds. Shoot them out of the box, they are that consistent. Not a good bullet for 1K shooting though. BC is no where near the competition.

This is the worst vertical I got from them.

jaygorski,
My problem exactly, shots are; XXX9XX9. The 9's are low, no alteration & back into the X again. My Dtacs are covered in BN dust, just wondering if anyone found the same or do you polish the dust off. Could the dust be the reason for elevation shots???

The last lot of 100 were dusty, just roll them on a rag and load em up. The latest lot of 500 are not dusty. The reason I think I got vertical on that group was from a south wind shooting north, these groups are from last week sunday, same load with a westerly wind.

And this last group was from when I shot the first group I posted, no vertical as you can see. Well, that high shot got away from me a bit.
