Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop that does bluing around Bakersfield California? I have a couple chrome Molly octagon rifle barrels I need to have blued.

Glen Rock Blue, Glen Rock, WY. They have a web site. A visit to accuratereloading.com might get some more resources. There are a few that post there that run small custom shops. I slow rust blue, but I'm not taking on any work at this time, 'till I get closer to being caught-up.

There are no hot bluers in Ca, Well at least none that are legit businesses, The chemicals that are used were outlawed there In the early 90's if I remember correctly. Most Gunsmiths there were sending stuff to Arizona.

Mark, I have used Glenrock in the past they did excellent work. several old crappy shotguns shined like a diamond in a goat's hind end. Plus, they were properly assembled when they got back

Keith at K&F Gunworks in Saint Maries Idaho
He took up where Mel Doyle left off. Not as fast, but a bit better attention to polishing. The Best parkerizing I have found.

He bought Mels phosphating gear about a year or so before he passed. Does hot blue and spray finishes too. Give him a try. Pretty reasonable.
