bluing/accuracy

Does hot bluing a new barreled action effect accuracy? In reality you are rusting the inside of the barrel.

thank you

You can bet that it sure won't help out the accuracy any......
Plugging the bore is not recommended either....

If your talking high accuracy rifles like we shoot.
Their are several gun coatings that work really well.
I just did my friends barrel with brownells coating/
It was easy and looks great.

I got an unfired factory blued Douglas 260 Rem long chambered for 98 Mausers.

It has the entire bore blued.

It has been to the range three times, and is still getting broken in.
It Copper fouls fast.
It cleans up fast, and then shoots great for a few shots.
With each cleaning, it is longer until the next cleaning.

Douglass barrels are not hand lapped like the lilja hart bartlein etc,
They are a bit rougher inside. What you are discribing sounds familiar to me. With shooting it may improve Or may not . It really depends on how Ruff the bore is and how you clean the rifle.
