Thanks again Mark. The .243 Win. Improved 40 degree is not recognized by either SAAMI or CIP so there is not an established official version of the dimensions. There are potentially several different drawings with slightly different dimensions available.
Your best bet is call or email either P,T & G, Manson or JGS to discuss what will work for your needs.
Thanks again Mark.
The only reason I'm curious is because I have a 243 Ackley Improved however my Redding die is marked 243 improved, they are different so I'm told.
When I set my die up in my press per the instructions it dents my shoulders of my brass, so I backed it off .012 and the dents stopped.
Try cleaning the excess lube build-up out of the die.... it dents my shoulders of my brass, so I backed it off .012 and the dents stopped.
Thank you for your advice, with 50 years of reloading experience that was the first thing I thought of and did so.Try cleaning the excess lube build-up out of the die.
That's exactly what I did.If everything else is working good, stop using the instructions and just set it up to bump shoulder how much you want.
