Blue print of 243 Improved 40.

You can try calling or emailing Sarah at JGS. I’m sure they will have what you’re looking for.

The .243 Win. Improved 40 degree is not recognized by either SAAMI or CIP so there is not an established official version of the dimensions. There are potentially several different drawings with slightly different dimensions available.

Your best bet is call or email either P,T & G, Manson or JGS to discuss what will work for your needs.

Thanks again Mark.
The only reason I'm curious is because I have a 243 Ackley Improved however my Redding die is marked 243 improved, they are different so I'm told.
When I set my die up in my press per the instructions it dents my shoulders of my brass, so I backed it off .012 and the dents stopped.

If everything else is working good, stop using the instructions and just set it up to bump shoulder how much you want.

Be sure you get a CIP print of a 243 and change the web dimensions to that dia if you plan on using Lapua or PMC brass. My reamer is SAAMI size, and I can not use Lapua brass in the chamber, too tight in the web.

I set my .243AI up at zero headspace and after 10 firings never even had to trim necks much less full length resize. Just neck sized and went. My chamber was pretty snug in the neck and with Hornady brass would come out with an inside neck diameter of .2435 after firing. YMMV.

Try cleaning the excess lube build-up out of the die.
Thank you for your advice, with 50 years of reloading experience that was the first thing I thought of and did so.
Put the die back together, into the press and the very first case after resizing has dents in the shoulder.
That's when I started backing the die out and settled on .012 from the shell holder.
Redding being an outstanding company, checked my brass, die, shell holder and actually cut me a .012 shell holder so I could keep the die square.
Did all the above plus returned shipped on their dime, that's the mark of a great company.

Best Regards and have a Happy and Safe 4th of July.
