blue bullets coated or xtream plated for indoor paper punching , would one be preferred over the other as this will be indoor range ?
I have seen some coated bullets put off a ton of smoke

Standing and shooting indoors for me let me use either. For indoor matches with lots of shooting like USPSA the smoke can be a tad problematic.

I have shot Bayou coated bullets, but outdoors, and they produced smoke, just don't use Titegroup as it is a very hot burning powder, just ask any revolver shooter.

I have also shot in excess of 100000 Xtreme bullets indoor and outdoors with success. For indoors, the smoke produced was from the powder, albeit less than shooting coated bullets.

You will get less smoke from plated bullets. Be careful with your crimp, too much and accuracy suffers in a hurry.

Some coated bullets smoke worse than others. I’ve used Blues, Bayou’s, SNS. A lot will depend on the powder you use. As others have mentioned, tightgroup is hot enough that it will be considerably worse.. N320 has given me great accuracy with allot less smoke and very clean..

xtreme had a decent sale yesterday so I ordered 1k pcs 9mm 115 GR RN they were cheap under $60 plus shipping figure why not give it a try, will try the powders I have already aa#7 , aa#5 , HS 6 ,

I have had great results with the Blue Bullets with CFE Pistol. My next project is 600 250 gr RNFP for .45 Colt.

You might find those powders, with that bullet weight, filling the case.

Don't know what brand Blue uses but I never had smoke issues when I powder coated my own (Eastwood).

Now days I use plated, or jacketed seconds, whichever is cheaper at the time. But, I don't shoot pistol much anymore so it is a moot point.
