Blue box 6BR brass flashholes?

7stubby

Some days it doesn't pay to even get out of bed.
Is anyone using the K&M flashhole .062" deburring tool to clean up and uniform the holes on blue box 6br brass? I ask before I do, as I would hate to ruin 200 cases! :'( Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I use an .062 reamer, works great, flash holes are not bad out of the box, but it is piece of mind. only take about 15 minutes per 100

I used it on .308 Palma brass that has the same flash hole. Didn't see any negative effects. Not sure it helped anything either though.

I don't touch them as the factory spec is a tad over 0.058" not 0.062".

But I do use a 0.062" reamer to just touch the inside surface of the flash hole whilst I am checking to see if there is any burr or foreign material around the hole. When I say touch it is just that, the very slightest amount of pressure and no actual cut.

I might find one burr in a few hundred cases. Just what I call uniforming all cases to be as close as I can make them to the same. Last job is weight sorting in increasing weight.

What ever works for you.

I use a DeWalt 1/16 drill bit that mikes at 0.0615. I run it in and twist it carefully with my fingers; if there's anything in there it takes it out and doesn't usually change anything else.
