Blind Hog Finds an Acorn

Acquired a 12 inch Encore VV 6BR barrel, was told it was a 1/10, but believe it is a 1/12. Threw some loads together using different bullets and powders. CBTO is just off the lands. Testing done at 100 yds. with a 10x Burris. No extractor. Bowers type rest. 31 grains of Varget under a 80 gr. Berger with B4 ignition. 3 shot group one hole about 1/4 inch! Should I just put the barrel in the safe and the target in my wallet? Or do I take the chance and load some more of the same thing? One thing for sure, it will be all down hill from here! 95 and 105 Bergers went through the target sideways!

Shooting 80 grain Bergers is just a lot of fun. Just a great bullet. Blows up pdogs too.

try Sierra 85gr HPBT hunting,,,if it will shoot those it is also good for deer....Roger

I am just starting to play with a 15" 6br Encore pistol and am seeing pretty good results.
I will have to try that load out, mine is a 1-12 MGM barrel and is shooting in the 1's with the 80 bart as well as the 75 VMax. A little lighter powder charge 29.7 Varget was my max today.
