Blast from the Past

I've always bought my gas at Costo to get the lower price plus 4% cash back for it. 11 years ago, when I moved to AZ, this is what I was paying (yes, I keep detailed records for my autos just as I do for my shooting and reloading;)):

Here's the current price for gasoline where I buy it (not much change in 11 years, how's that for inflation? ;)):

Always interesting to see what you're paying over there. I'd love those prices, it would be like Christmas and birthday all at once. That said, with that MPG I'd be looking for the hole in my tank ;)

That's pretty normal for a 2005 large SUV with plenty of horsepower. I'm still running it with over 211,000 miles on it and people are amused with the CD and Tape player that's original equipment. I've toyed with the idea of getting a new model, but like many old codgers my age, getting the latest greatest just isn't very appealing these days. Not that I can't afford it, I'm just somewhat of a tightwad that way :p .

Yeah, if I were having to pay your prices  , I wouldn't still have this vehicle.

I agree with that sentiment, I'm driving a 2.0l diesel and going to keep it as long as I can until we see what happens with all this EV stuff. As I see it every pound I don't spend is a pound I don't have to earn ;) I like value for money but that doesn't necessarily mean cheap. The kids will have no idea what a tape is!

With a bit of luck we can get back to exploiting all those fossil fuels we have, but might have to wait until 2029.

Paid $3.49 yesterday for diesel at a local Wallyworld. I cannot remember the last time I saw a diesel price beginning with a 2, much less a 1.

$5.369 for premium in Moses Lake Sat afternoon, only bought enough to get home and pay $4.529 for premium in Spokane yesterday.
