Blacknitride metal processing

Hi Guys

After wearing out the barrel in my 6XC, I'm now in the process of getting it replaced. It lasted 2,000 rounds with excessive throat erosion. The rifling did not look that good with a borescope,.
I'm thinking about getting the new barrel (after it is broken in) blacknitrided through H&M Metal Processing for longer barrel life.
I was wondering if anyone on the forum has has had it done to their barrels and how it worked out?
Questions...
(1) is throat erosion and wear reduced ?
(2) What is the barrel life after nitrideing?
(3) When it cames back from processing, was there any change in accuracy?
(4)Easier to clean ?
(5) Should I break it in first?
(6) And anything else to be aware of.

Thanks for any feedback.
Gina

Thanks for the link. Cost wise H&M said $100/ barrel. Since I only have one, not a batch price.Turn around time is 3-5 days.
If any members out who have had blacknitrideing done, can answer any of my questions, would really help

Thanks all.

I had it done on a 26 Nosler. It still eroded. Forget how many rounds but it still shoots good for a hunting rifle. Have one in 6.5x47 which shows very little signs after 500 rds.

Check with Rock Creek barrels. Whoever does their nitriding, they clean it up completely, no two hours of scrubbing to get all the gunk out of it like other nitriding vendors. BTDT.
