Black liquid within my modertor?

Hi all

I have recently purchased a custom built 22/250 and I have elected to use Varget, Nosler 50 grain ballistic tips bullets, Norma brass and Federal Premium GM210m primers. As part of the build I also have a custom built moderator, it comes back over the barrel nearly to where the fore end of the stock starts. This was done mainly for esthetic reasons.

After putting 30 bullets through it I noticed that there was a black liquid appearing from the exit hole of the moderator. This session was conducted early evening when the heat of the day was dissipating and the wind had dropped to virtually zero. When I got home I shook the moderator and was able to extract even more black liquid.

What do you think is causing this and will it eventually affect the harmonics of my barrel if left un-treated?

It is condensation.

When powder is burned, some water vapor is generated - all moderators (suppressors, silencers) will collect this as condensation. The black is from the powder products like carbon, etc, mixed with the water.

Just keep it clean.
