Bipods for big bores

Hey guys, I'm looking at bipods to go on my 338 lapua with xlr chassis that I just bought. I really like the bipod that xlr offers that allows the bore centerline to sit lower to the bipod. What I don't like is the $450 price tag. Anybody know if anybody else makes something similar that's closer to reasonable. I wouldn't have an issue spending somewhere around $250 or even $300 but that's about it. What should I get?

Atlas v8 . Had one on my 31 pound long range Xlr stock and it was very nice. Pan, tilt, rock solid, nice build quality.

Hmmm I honestly didn't think anybody would say that. The design makes sense I just didn't want to be disappointed after spending $450 on a bipod. I'm going to seriously consider it now. Thanks for the replies!

Oh I am going to look at the atlas v8. I know what the atlas bipods are like but I'm not really aware of the different models and their features.

I have atlas's on both my xlr chassies and am very happy with them. There are only 2 that work on the rail system, one the bt10 clamps on with 2 cross bolts that you will need a screwdriver to put on and take off, and the other has a clamp that is removable with out tools. I feel that the harris is a good bipod well but needs to be "loaded" to get repeatable accuracy as the atlas does not need loaded.

I will tell you when I sold my rifle I did not want to include the bipod. The atlas only made it to the new owner after a substantial change to the deal was made.
