Bipod EXT

Has anyone here had any experience with the BipodEXT made by Accuracy Solutions?
I watched a couple videos on it and while i really like the idea of increesing the distance between the bipod and the rear bag; it seems a bit overpriced. Also i couldnt help but wonder if i could make my own with a simple set of 1" scope rings, a piece of 3/4 schedule 40 steel pipe and a sling swivel stud. All that is less than 40 bucks and does the same thing. And adding more weight shouldnt be an issue if my gun already weighs more than a budweiser horse.
Another thing that caught my eye is the possibility to use something similar so mount a Magnetospeed in roughly the same position without actually having to touch the barrel at all. Meaning no POI shift due to change in barrel harmonics.
I might be wrong. But anywho, i ordered the rings, and the swivel stud yesterday. I have access to pipe. So im gonna try and build one. I'll let yall know how it turns out.

I'm new to the game, have not really started playing yet(lol), but in doing some thinking around I had been wondering if being able to mount a bipod way out front would be good for stability. So, no I do not have any experience with the product, but I would love to hear how it turned out for you.

Also, they make 3/4" rigid aluminum conduit which is roughly 1". Would be a lot lighter than steel.
