Binocular refurbish, clean & adjust

Kittitas George

I just got a pair of Bausch & Lomb 7x 50 binoculars. United States Marine Corp. issue WWII. Is there anyone that can clean, refurbish and tighten these up. The hinge is a little loose, it's difficult to hold the eye spacing. The eye focus may need a little sealant grease to stiffen them to hold adjustment. I checked the previous threads and got a zip on information.

Are these the binos, that you don't focus? They self focus at any yardage?
Yes, set the focus individually and 'good' to any distance. I had Leupold binoculars some years ago like this, but they quit making that model, I traded them off. I bought these so I could have a pair of "inexpensive" binoculars in my jeep at all times, I'm afraid to leave my Swarovski EL 10x40's there.

Similar, mine have 2 screws below the focus adjustments, at 7 o'clock and 5, plate is a slightly different shape.
On the right plate it's blank under B&L, Rochester, above that, directly to the right of the hinge pin,
US Marine Corps
NO. 14080. 1944
MOD. FROM MK 28 TO MK 46
If front of the NO 1480 it appears something was removed by lightly grinding, then covering with a felt pen.
The left plate has no writing except for the 7x50 in same place as yours. I'll inquire at the company mentioned above to have these refurbished, like new 1946 USMC binoculars, that will be a treasure to brag about. If you would like I will text you pictures, just PM me a phone number.

I just got my Leitz Trinovid back from Suddarth about 2 weeks ago. They needed to be collimated. They look like they are brand new and the view is spectacular. You won’t be disappointed in his work. Good luck.
