Has anyone had a rifle built by this person?

FWIW- I met Bill Truitt at the '05 IBS Score Nationals. From what I remember, a retired State Trooper, he built custom rifles as a side business, although the machine work was farmed out. His name has not surfaced in years. IIRC he helped run Bridgeville (DE) shoots.

Yes, I have.early 2000. 2 pair of 20 Tacticals at different times. The first transaction went
smoothly. The second pair was a fiasco, but it finally ended, not well,but just OK.

He was having some serious back problems before he fell off the radar.

My Gunsmith recently bought a friends 20 tac that was built by Truitt at that same time
He took it apart, and to quote him "I dont see how this rifle shot as well as it did."

Ive had some barrels chambered by Bill and they have done better than some from big name shops. Bill had his neck injured by a crash while on police duty and this has plagued him over the years. He has had numerous fusion surgeries which were not successful, the most recent may be better. I think due to the physical problems some days in the shop may have been better than others.

Had a rifle redone by Bill took over a year due to his back injuries.the rifle shoot once really well. Make a long story short took it to Hart no more problems
