Bighorn receivers

Anybody have any comments/criticisms on the Bighorn Receivers?
Particularly interested in those who have 'hands on' experience, w/ them.
Thanks

Although I lack the tools to do a QC inspection, the workmanship seems to be of very high quality, based on fits, finishes and overall appearance. Mine has an integral recoil lug and is threaded to take small shank Savage barrels. These features combined with interchangeable bolt heads, and the fact that they will drop in to Remington bedding, and use Remington compatible triggers, gives a lot of flexibility, and the ability to assemble a complete rifle without having to do any machine work. I have a PPC bolt head and barrel for mine, and it shoots well.

Good people to deal with and the actions are very smooth. I just did a 6x47L and a 284 shehane on bighorns. Have used there actions in the past.
Bighorn and defiance are my recommendations to my customers?

Fancy Savage.

I'm not a fan of a floating bolt head...can't prove that it makes a difference but I don't like'em.

My experience is that they are outstanding actions. It's about as much a fancy savage as a BAT is a fancy Remington

Sure it makes a difference. You can change the bolt nose to accommodate any bolt face without buying different rifles or bolts.
