Big Stuff ???

Okay I don't mean to step on toes or complain, but I feel 7mm to 35 cal as medium calibers, case in point a couple weeks back I was shooting a 9.3X62 for fun, and I didn't think of it as being large/big. Granted at a distance the loaded rounds do look a bit like little seegars, but it's fun to "plink" with.

Traditionally, anything up to .30 is small-bore, and anything over .40 is big-bore.

Since this forum is primarily focused in the accuracy disciplines, "big" just means "bigger than most of us shoot paper with".

Myself, I prefer the Queen of the Medium Bores.

I have a bad shoulder, 6mm is big stuff to me . Does it really matter ?

I tore my Rotator cuff some time back and messed up my right hand and forearm, so I know what having a bad shoulder is like, I now can shoot a 338 Win Mag in a tank top, not my idea of fun, so I like the cartridges that give a big shove, more than the abrupt rap of the magnums. But heck if it uses some form of gunpowder, black or smokeless, I'll give 'er a try.

Will this count??? I was contemplating a re-barrel and restock of this Winchester highwall from the cartridge on the right (45-70) to the cartridge on the left...50-140 or also known as ‘big’ 50 (3 1/4”). I was surprised at the difference!

That's the spirit, I do on occasion take out the ones that hurt me now just to relive the glory days . Like you, I like the ones that shove more than rap me .
