Since probably eighty or ninety percent of the coyotes that we call or kill by any method are a year or less old, it is really striking to see what a full sized, older dog looks like. When you kill one like that you know that you have truly out-smarted the best of the best.

I've always believed that there are coyotes out there which are pretty much un-gettable. jd

Jd,

I fully agree. If pushed hard enough from hunting pressure, I believe they are much like a big whitetail buck and pretty much become nocturnal. Very hard to get the older coyotes. They make very few mistakes. :D:D

I killed a big male 3 years ago that I hung up behind my garage for 3 months. I gave to a buddy who is a taxidermist. It weighed 37lbs at that time. Congrats on your coyote, they are hard to get. Barlow

Those are slightly bigger than the usual winter coyotes I have killed in NY. But not a lot bigger. They grow em big there. Last one took two 150 grain NBT from a 7mag at 330 yards before flopping dead. Sure, one anchored him, but took another to get him to stop trying to go. Both chest hits
