Well after deciding that all alone I had been trying to push my cases too hard over the last couple outings I went back and looked at what shot the best and it seemed that the best accuracy Node was around 3000 fps from my 6 Dasher with the Krieger 8.5 twist barrel.
Today I backed my loads back down to what shot the best and worked them up in .2 grn increments and am very pleased of todays results. I have a great window here of a .6 grn spread so if I load at the lower node as the temp rises and gets into the 90's I still will be within my pressure curve and if I attend a match that will be well below todaysd temp I can increase my charge and still be within my lower end pressure node as well. This is an ideal situation and now the true test is to shoot it at 600 yds and see if they do as well as they have at the short range load development.
For those that have been folowing my progress on the 6 Dasher I stress it won't do any good to push them above 3050 as anything above this is ahrd on the cases and anything over 3200 you are trashing the cases. Sadly my next accurate node from the 3000 mark was above 3200 fps and this was way too hard on the cases.
I am now moving forward on the Berger 105's and work a load for them.
I shot them today and so far they seemed to like around 35.0 grns VV550 at a vel of 3044 with a ES of 23. I don't like the ES and will tighten the enck bushing from a .263 down to a .262 and see if this will lower my ES. The OAl of these were 1.800 .005 into the lands where the BIBS shot best at 1.831 this is .036 in the lands. Bearing surface on the Bergers were measured in and sorted at .467
I will post more test results of the Bergers at a later time.
