Best value barrel blank?

So lets say you wanted to build a very accurate sporter so your nephew could shoot up all your cull ammo. What brand blank would you look at?

Excalibur can also be had pretty cheap at times and the one I have chambered in 30-06 shoots excellent.

Could do a prefit criterion or Shillen. If you save 100 bucks on the barrel blank you’re still adding 300 for a chamber

I'm happy with the green mountain barrel on my 10-22. The bentz chamber seems to feed and eject well with low cost ammo. However, It dosen't extract live rounds reliably. The extractor compleatly misses the rim which they will fix if you send it back. I gave in the neighborhood of $125 for mine at brownells in 2012.
