Best trigger pull gauge

I need to buy a trigger pull gauge who makes the best one or which one is everybody using, what do yall say.

The Lyman serves my needs well.

I can not say it is the best, there are many good ones, but the Pachmayr has served me well.

The very best ones use a weight system (Is that the Brownell's?), but for the rest of us the Lyman electronic does a very good job.

I've had the Lyman since they first became available & am very satisfied with it.

Lyman and rcbs trigger gages since available.I try them against each other.The lyman is definately the better gage.

i currently have the lyman digital...i was disappointed in the fact that it seemed to be really easy to get different readings depending alot on how and what angle i pulled it at...this may have only been because of my lack of knowledge on how to use it...had i used the rcbs i dont think i would have noticed this...simply because the rcbs is not as sensitive...so to try to pick a better of the two id have to say the lyman is more accurate..but you have to pay real good attention to how you use it...you want to try to be as consistent as possible...

on another note i contacted timmney triggers and asked them what gauge they used and they said the rcbs..they take a different approach than what i did....lets say you want a 2lb trigger pull...they will use the rcbs gauge to get as close as possible to this but in the end he said its best to set the gauge aside and put the gun back into the stock and go off of feel when you start getting close to the pounds you want. he recommended to pay more attention to how it breaks and how it feels to you than worry so much about the exact number on the gauge. hope this helps

I have an RCBS Premium which works OK if you are careful using it. Must keep the rifle level, place the hook at the same location on the trigger each time, and pull slowly parallel to the rifle which I image you have to do for the other gages also.

It's easy to read and relatively inexpensive but I'm not sure how accurate it may be.

I have to respectfully disagree. The best device is a Correx Gram Force Gauge. They come in different ranges of measurement and can be picked up used on ebay for a good price. Extremely accurate and consistently repeatable readings.

RCBS Premium is very nice and easy to use.

Not like the Exact Weight is what matters... Primary value of trigger-pull gauge, unless you are meeting weight mins for Service Rifle comps, is to register movement as you adjust your trigger.

Weight stacking unit will always be most reliable and accurate.

Unless your triggers are tuned and honed to be consistent in engagement area as sear moves, adjustment will not typically be uniform.

Wonder what gauge the competition trigger makers use?
