Best Savage 110 7mag loads???

Hey guys I am very new to reloading. I have just purchased a savage 110 7mag and I wanted to find the best round for it. It will be dual purpose rifle...distance shooting and deer hunting. I have a friend who is a sniper and after talking to him I would like to try and use a 175-180 grain bullet. Any suggestions on best loads for this? Remember very new to this so keep things simple! Get yourself some H1000 or retumbo powder, get yourself a good reload era mnual if you don't. I use CCI LR primers, not magnums. Look up Bergers instructions for how to find out how to find the charge and length it likes. Mine with h4831sc likes a close to max charge seated pretty deep in te case. If you bought 100 bullets they'll be gone working a load up. I don't think that sporter contour is gonna do well with the heavies, mine when stock shot 150s decent but my 1-9.25 twist likes most everything I've fed it

Thought you bought Bergers my bad. Just look up in a manual and start work at book COAL take the loads that shoot best and then work with seating depth.

69.5grns H1000 with a 168vld 10k jammed and a magnum cci primer with norma brass shoots great for me in my savage 110. I jump them for a hunting load and its not quite as accurate as jammed. I will get the classic hunters next go around. As always work your way up. Matt

Jammed in the load I spoke off is touching the rifling plus 10 thousandths longer. There are some great threads talking about jumping and jamming. They can explain it better than me.

The jump jam of you bullet varies from component to component. If your new to reloading read through your manual and follow listed caol and do some loading. Work up your load. I always start 2 grains under book max at least and load 3-5 rounds per 1/2gr increment. I wouldn't worry about jamming bullets until you start to understand the process more and what happens with jamming a bullet and pressure. Get you feet wet, use safe reloading tactics, maybe look up on you tube at reloading instructions. If you have someone that loads ask to be mentored some. Acting like you know more that you do when reloading ammunition will end badly. I had a kaboom in a 7 mag when I first started and relized it was my fault and due to bad practices. Start slow and work up. Like anything in life only this can blind or mame you in a fraction of a second. Don't forget hearing and eye protection.
