Best Reloading Book - Intermediate/Advanced?

Hey, all,

I bought a 6.5-284 and I'm getting back into reloading after being away from it since the early 1980s.

I used to reload target/varmint stuff for my .270 back then, and I have several of the books from back then – Speer, Sierra and maybe 2 or three others – but I don't think I have anything that gets into the finer points of reloading for accuracy.

Heck – I used a lot of old Lake City Match 30-06 brass for my 270 reloads, so I've never even had to neck trim!

I think I know most of the basic safety stuff, and the basics of reloading – but I'm looking for a good book that will help me wring the most accuracy I can get out of my new 6.5-284 target rifle.

Can anyone recommend any good books? What's your favorite go-to book?

Thanks in advance.

My background is similar.....long break from shooting/reloading and now addicted to F Class Open for two years
I got so much information and confidence from the following books that I will forever be indebted to whomever pointed me their way.
1) Precision Shooting Reloading Guide- ring bound and edited by Dave Brennan

2)Handloading for Competition by Glen Zediker
Also keep returning to Tony Boyers "The Book of Rifle Accuracy", and "The Benchrest Shooting Primer" a collection of articles from Precision Shooting from 1982 thru to 1996.
I am also heavily indebted to this forum, which lets me sit on my butt in Australia, and read the input from some of the worlds best competitors !

+1 on the suggestions from Ecomeat. All of the books he suggested are excellent.

Dont forget the articles on this site. Some very good info can be found here. I posted almost the same question a while ago and while the books I purchased and read help... I find that once I have my caliber determined you can look on here and find what it likes.. how much neck tension, into the lands or not etc...

Thanks SavageDasher.

Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of the books I've gotten recommendations for are out of print and the owners of used copies seem to think they're made out of platinum...$900 for a used copy of the PO Ackley book at Alibris...
