My self have a Liberty Safe and since i live in Philly Pa. happens to be a local company for me also is a very well made safe, check them out.

I have a Liberty so I am biased towards them. ;D

Gotta consider getting it moved into place as part of the deal...... Lotta places say curbside delivery ONLY...

Buy it local and have it delivered, or if they don't deliver I'm sure the dealer can put you in touch with someone who can.
The add says free delivery which means a tractor trailer pulls up to your house and it's your baby from there on out.
Pay the usual hundred bucks and forget the worries.

I'll just throw this out RE moving it...

I have a Liberty Colonial 23. It's 565 pounds empty.

I put quilts in the bed of my truck, then at the store I, my dad (who was 66 at the time) and a store employee just tipped it onto its back and slid it into the bed. Then I rented a furniture dolly from U-Haul. When I got it home my dad and I just stood it back up and let it slide onto the furniture dolly. I rolled it into place, threw some chocks in front of the dolly wheels and we "walked" it off right into its new home, easy peasy, no sprains or scratches. Now, of course that only works if your truck and the safe's new home are on the same floor, mine went through the garage into the basement and back into the man cave - straight shot. (Also, at 565 pounds it was about 1/100th (or so it felt) as much as the stupid, dad-blasted upright piano >:( that I helped move, so it felt pretty easy.) Just sayin'...

As far as my Liberty Colonial vs. that Browning Theftguard:

Liberty has 45 mins fire protection, but only 11 bolts; both are 12ga steel with 1" doors. I paid $950 out-the-door new @ Gander Mtn in 2006.

For that kind of money an Amsec BF series safe is a much better gunsafe because of the body construction (poured cement-y fill between thicker metal compared to just Sheetrock between 12ga metal).

Or for a little more you can get a B-rated safe and not just an RSC:

When my safe from Liberty was delivered they took it of the truck and moved it into the basement as part of the deal.

Two buddies and a half case a beer is all it cost me to get mine moved from the curb and into a bedroom.

+1 on Liberty Safes, especially since they acquired National Security... My magnum plus is about 1600 pounds with 900 of that in the door!

A husband and wife team delivered my safe in Colorado. From a chain hoist on the trailer, they lowered it onto 6 golf balls and rolled it across the pavement like it was on ball bearings. The couple's daughter put new golf balls under the oncoming side and picked up those behind as it rolled forward...

Golf balls..... how easy is that? I wrestled with furniture dollys and rugs.

I shopped and shopped. Wanted a Cannon 48" wide safe... big momma. Cannon was retailing on their website at over $3K. Ebay had a few in the $1800 range. Walked into Academy Sports down the street and they had them for $600. I almost bought 2. Shop the warehouse sporting outlets... they can get them cheap with their volume.
