Best glue for plastic?

I just broke the tray of my beloved old style Lee priming tool. *sigh* I really want to salvage this thing. Is there a glue that will put Humpty back together again?

Thanks in advance for all helpful advise. Those who are tempted to say “Get a real priming tool”...please move on.

I think you can put a wtb ad on here and buy a tray from a guy that broke the thumb lever

I work in plastics as my day job. Without knowing exactly what material the trays are made from, my best advice is to test acetone on the material in an inconspicuous area. If it softens quickly, it's likely that it is a PMMA based material. If that's the case, then IPS Weld-on #3 or #16 would be your best bet.

If you want a bit of advice and to know what to buy, give me a call, 1-888-827-7330

I broke the mouth off my RCBS hand tool tray, and while crazy glue by itself would not hold up to the flexing where it had cracked, I sandwiched a thin piece of plexiglass to the bottom across the break and it has served me well for many years now.

If it is the old round style tray I will send you one, PM me your mailing address.

Tommie, I don't know that particular tray, or reloader, but some have made trays with a 3D printer. In fact for the RCBS RockChucker, the plan was online. This may be an option if you can't fix yours or get a good serviceable one.

Best of luck, Peter.

Try the super glues or "plastic welder" that uses a UV light to cure...sometimes you can find it at store end caps or the "As seen on tv" section. That type glue stays put!

I second this kind of stuff. It holds like nobody’s business and is a lot cleaner than superglue because you decide when to put the UV light on it to set it. It’s not for every application but it definitely will hold two pieces of plastic together like nothing else. Just google Or amazon “uv glue”
