best FTR bipod

I think the Centershot will become the one to get if weight is an issue. As for me I'll stick to my Laberge and the old standby Harris SBR, Pod Paws and Pod Loc.

I have a 1st & 2nd generation Sinclair. Also have the Harris. It really depends on preference. The main issue with the Sinclair is "loading" ... can't apply forward pressure because it slides but sometimes that is a plus. have to re-learn some skills & apply. Except for the 2nd gen not being so packable, I like it best.

I've been winning with a Caldwell copy of the Harris bipod. The problem I have is torque. With a 308 slamming a 200+ grain bullet out there as hard as it can, the rifle jumps one foot in the air and digs the other in while recoiling. To say that I don't get to see the trace is an understatement.

I am going to try the new Sinclair on Tuesday (if UPS gets here in time).

Personal preference. I use Harris and Centershot. The Harris hops (for me) and I lift the rifle and reset it. The Centershot slides left and I slide it back to reset it. Shot great scores with both, but the Centershot has adjustable elevation which is very nice.

As Scott said, a lot of it is personal preference as well as what you can fit into the 8.25 kg. weight limit.

I use the Rempel bipod. At 3 lb. 5 oz. it's no lightweight, but it's hell for stout and very stable.

I hope you're not building her an F-T/R rifle! I think the F-Open guys really enjoy the challenge, shouldn't upset them.

I have been using the MWerks bipod. It has a fair price and is pretty light weight (2lbs.). The spigot mount makes it easy to pull on and off for transport. It is very stable and with 6br it slides straight back on recoil. I hope to try it on my .308 F-TR rig that I have in the works soon.

At 18 1/2 ounces the Centershot does allow the shooter almost a full lb of weight to use elsewhere, especially with weight becoming more and more of an issue in FT/R.

i have just had the opportunity to handle a new bypod made up here in the north.canada that is,it has some of the features of the remple with a few extras.its made with carbon fiber legs to reduce weigth, their is no spring or bounce when it is fired, very very well made check it out.

I have the Sinclair F-T/r bipod and did not like the way it recoild behing my 175 SMK's. They are pretty light at 2619. I ordered a Sinclair Tactical which I can preload. The recoil impulse is completely different! I can't see bullet trace or anything, but I do see the dirt kick up behind the 600 yard F-Class target.

This is a bipod that I have been developing this year and is going into production. Pattern on plates will change for better cosmetics

The pod mounts quickly and easily to a T slot rail. Easy on and off without tools. I will have adapters for Pic Rail forends, Remple rests and eventually swivel studs.

Very stable. Geometry eliminates torque during recoil.

Easy to adjust height and there is lots of travel. Footprint gets larger the taller you go.

Installed weight 14.5ozs. I believe this is the lightest pod on the market right now. It will support a 50lbs rifle with ease.

Future pods will be hard coat mil spec type 3 anodized. Can easily be painted if black is not desired.

Please send me an email to info@mysticprecision.com for more info.

Thanks,

Thanks for the kind comment. We had a much more complicated and robust unit but when we were able to climb on top without issue (I weight 200lbs), we figured a wee bit overengineered.

It can be made lighter and work fine on the rifle but damage handling becomes a possibility.

The legs can be moved independently for cant. 20degs of tilt can be easily adjusted for and that is way more then any range we will ever compete on BUT it is very useable in the field for hunters and other LR shooters.

See my website for pricing. I will be offering a promo for preorders on my next batch of pods. ETA late Jan.

Needs to be updated... oh well, not enough hours in a day.

Let me know...
