Hello I'm interested in buying a new custom barrel for my Ruger precision rifle to run in the IBS light class. 6mm Creedmoore. Who is the best?
This is true but he may have another motive for shooting IBS. He may be a tight wad like me and refuses to build a gun for a single purpose. Or perhaps the closest range he can shoot past 100 yards shoot IBS and shooting these matches is his only means of shooting out further. I hunt deer with my F-class rifle. I shoot TR as I use a Harris bipod for hunting and F-class.The best barrel to run in ibs light class is attached to a fast custom action
This is a trainer rifle to learn what's good what's bad. I'm in the process of figuring out what it is I want. With the factory Barrel in Factory ammo I have shot 4 to 6 inch groups in competition. When working up handloads of shot a few 2" and some 3 plus inch groups. Still learning, but for those who know me I study everything. The best barrel to run in ibs light class is attached to a fast custom action
Great info.LRI has great prefits. I've shot one of their standard prefits (K&P blank and I've shot as small as 0.084" shot group) and for the next barrel I sent my reamer and a Bartlein Med Palma blank and had Chad Dixon (LRI) make a prefit from it. They both shot very well. I would look into LRI. I also have heard of excellent RPR prefit barrels from Patriot Valley Arms (Josh Kunz).
I said simple, but I remembered that it was not simple to get the Ruger barrel nut loose. I think it came off at 250+ ft lbs. Must be a liability thing.I put a Krieger pre-fit in 6XC on my RPR. Simple to do and shoots good. Not cheap though!
