Best chronograph for the money?!

Looking to purchase one so I can stop borrowing one from my buddy....

What do you guys recommend?? Best bang for your buck type of thing.

Thanks!

Magnetospeed. Shoot for groups without it on. Then attach and shoot a few for speeds.
Had a V2, sold it and bought a V3. Then bought a Sporter to see what it was all about, didnt like the read out/controller. Sent it back and staying with the V3. Easier for me to use as thats what I was use to on the V2 and then on to the V3 controller/read out.

Sporter with the XFR attachment for your phone; better than the displays on the more premium version. I love mine; one of the best firearm purchases I've ever made.

I've never had any issues with Chrony. Not the best, but not the most expensive either. Been around for a very long time and they just plain work. Worth what you pay.

I did have the occasional dropped reading in bright sunlight with my Chrony Beta Master. I adapted a battery powered Caldwell infrared light kit to fit on the original shade rods by putting some offset bends in them. Works great. Haven't had a problem since.

Being your orientated to benchrest accuracy primarily, doubting you would like anything strapped to your barrels, which is a big downfall to all the recommendations of the Magnetospeed.
I suggest to look onward: for optic sensor types, one with "Infrared screens", or the new LabRadar would better suite your needs I feel.

CED M2 works good for me. Not as easy to set up as the Labradar, but about 1/3 the delivered price. Do a search on this site for test results. Bryan Litz I believe did a comparison of some.

Another plus for the CED: If(when) it gets shot, the expensive parts remain safe at the end of the comm cable, unlike the other traditional sky screen units
The infra-red screens(optional) make it reliable in all conditions.
That said, if the Magnetospeed worked with pistols, I'd think I'd go that route.

Labradar first choice and Oehler 35 would be the second. I've got a Oehler for sale in the classifieds that is looking for a new home. I might come down just a little but can't come down to much more.
