Best Cerakote Color to Match Traditional Bluing

Cerakote sells many shades and textures of black--varying from very flat to shiny--and I'm wondering which of these is the best match to a traditional blued finish. If possible, I'd like to match the look of a rust blued finish, which is not super shiny, but I don't want a really severe flat black.

Anyone on here have some experience with the various black Cerakote finishes?

This is graphite black

I guess it depends what your take on traditional is, an old Sako or Styer's bluing is probably gonne be a little more shiny then say a Savage or Rem

Order a color swatch of Midnight Blue.

Socom blue is specifically formulated for firearms to imitate bluing

That's helpful, guys. After looking at the color examples on the Cerakote website, I had thought that either Blackout or Gloss Black would be close.

Smoke is a good color too.

The application of Cerakote is important. I have looked at a lot of Cerakote finishes. I have yet to see any that were even close to the examples displayed in the Cerakote booth at the SHOT Show I attended a few years ago.

Most applicators make it look like krylon. Very few good ones out there. Vudoo is one that can make it look very good

Midnight blue or Socom blue will be the closest to true traditional bluing. Like others have said, the application of it is just as important.
